I had time to listen to music at home today. It all started with uploading my new Favorited songs on "ear" under “TOUCH", how I noticed that I found Europe music more appeal to me. I often listen to music at work with this random radio station. The station plays all kind of songs and I will track down the songs that I like. And, when I search the songs online, I often found they are most from European countries. Then, I remembered that I liked German songs because I think German language sounds pretty cool. So I started to search German songs on YouTube which ended up with search different countries' music.
It's interesting to watch and listen the songs from different countries. The songs were all from 2013, so new songs for today's world. Just compare the style of songs to songs, there aren't that much difference. Pop, rock, hip-hop, dance, etc, those major types of music is popular in all countries. But I still found something interesting. Even the type of songs are same, but how popular one type of songs is more than others showed me how one culture express its feelings.

For example, German music is very close to American. A lot of pop, rock and some hip-hop. When I was watching the videos and listening to their songs. I feel most people who listen to those songs might be between age 20-40. Even I don't understand what they are singing about, but I am sure mostly is about love (every country is same on that). From the music and music videos, you can notice that most song is upbeat, not many slow songs or you don't see tears. More drinking, pub, bar in the music videos than Japanese or Chinese ones.
Then, let's take look at the Japanese musics. A lot of more pop, dance and rock than other style. The music videos are more creative than German and Chinese. The music are very upbeat, almost hyper. I know they have sad songs with tears, but in this YouTube video, you don't see any. Also, a lot of animation, girls group, boys band, colorful items, cute things, etc. Make people feel that most people listen to the songs are from 10 - 30. I am gonna be 34 soon, and I use to love Japanese pop songs, but now the new songs don't speak must to me. So I must getting older.
And, now the Chinese ones. Almost every songs are pop, no rock, no rap, no hip-hop nor dance. All the songs are about love (since I understand). A lot of tears, a lot of death, a lot of heartbreaks and break ups. Most songs are slow. No group artists. Almost every music video is a heart broke love story. And, since I do understand the lyrics. I feel most people listen to those songs are from age 15-50. Very wide range of listener might also mean the lock of other style of music in mainstream music world. I know there are other styles, but they always lost to the simple heartbreak pop.
I know those 3 videos and the songs in the videos can't really tell everything about those 3 countries' music culture. But it is just very interesting to watch and listen to them, also it is fun to notices the differences of countries and people.
I think it is important to know there are differences between cultures, religions, life style, etc. Only when we know there are differences, we can accept others without being judgmental.
