The introduction of THE GLASS SLIPPER
Beauty has been chased, searched, desired by woman for thousands of years. Not only because it's human's nature to love the beautiful things, but also because no human was born equal. That means there is Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and there is the rest of us.
Every woman had or will have their Cinderella moment in their life. The moment that some magics happen when we wear a beautiful dress, put on a pair of pretty shoes, have our hair done or a new lipstick on; the moment we look into the truthful mirror and love what we see which make us smile, giggle, turn in circle, and back to that little girl tried on mom's high heels; the moment our confidence is out of roof, feel like we can take over the world, capture any man's heart and the most important accept ourselves and happy about who we are.
That is the Cinderella moment.
There has been many sayings that meant to encourage woman to pursue beauty, such as: Well dressed woman, well dressed mind; or there is no ugly woman but only lazy women, etc. As much as I like the encouragement, I also believe woman should be able to love the way they are. There is one ideal beauty accepted by mainstream society but there are so many different types of beauty among us. I try my best to not become the ideal beauty, but a beautiful lady.
And, I'd like to share my experience with everyone. I am an Asian in her 30s who try to find the balance point of being not old nor young. At this point of my life, I am not ready to leave Forever 21 and jump into J.Crew or give all my pay check to Kate Spare (even I love it). I believe true beauty has no age, and true fashion has no price.
There are 4 categories in my THE GLASS SLIPPER page: Cinderella, Little Mermaid, Snow White, and Rapunzel. They symbolize: shoes, outfit, skin care and hair care.
Cinderella is famous of her beautiful glass slippers which is the important thing bring her to the happiness.
Little Mermaid's shining blue fishtail become a famous style for evening and wedding gown: the mermaid style.
Snow Beauty's skin is described tender as baby's and white as snow. "White as snow" might not be American ideal of beauty but I think we can take it as clear as snow. Who doesn't want clear skin?
And, Rapunzel's hair! The health, long, blond hair which has the magic of youth! Just like how the modern society views the youth through the full, long, health hair.
I will share my discovers in those 4 categories. My discovers might just be drugstore brands but at least they are true to life.
May every girl become a princess.
