I can't believe we slept until 12 pm today. The hotel curtains are thick and heavy which covered any light from outside of the hotel. We had no idea it was that late. I think both of us were tired from yesterday's walking.
The hotel we are staying in are outside of D.C.. It is at a great location: the old town of Alexandria. There is a subway station just 37 steps from the hotel. And only 10 stops to the heart of D.C.. I like the subway in D.C.. It's very clean.

Mr.Rabbit and I had Dunking Donuts for breakfast, then headed to the Newseum (The news museum). The Newseum is just across street from the National Gallery of Art, so we had no trouble to find it. The ticket to Newseum is $22 per person, but it's 2 day admissions which is good. Most of the museums in D.C. are free which is great to go as family, save a lot of money.
I don't know what I expect the Newseum to be. I guess I thought it is only about news. But I didn't realize that news is connected with history. News is reporting and documenting history, even if it is a current news because we all live in the past in a way. The total of 7 floors of Newseum, 3 floors are about the history of news, newspapers, TV shows, news reporting, etc. But other 4 floors are about the real news: JFK, WWI, WWII, 911 and the miserable histories of the world. I was in a heavy mood when the museum closed. But I did enjoy it and learned some things. If we have time tomorrow, I would go back to watch couple short films.

When we were done with the Newseum, we walked to Capital Hill. It was after 6 pm already, and we know the Capital Hill was closed to public. However, we still wanted to just go there and see it closely. The walk was fine. D.C. is kind of small, so the walking wasn't too bad. Plus, it's really clean and less people than NY. So it was kind enjoyable to walk around.
Even I have see Capital Hill before, but it was still great to see it again. It is a beautiful building to see. Few other groups were there taking pictures, and Mr.Rabbit and I took a nice picture as well.

By the time we walked to the Capital Hill, the sun was hot! Mr.Rabbit and I were burning up and hungry. So we decided to go back to Alexandrea to have dinner and check out the waterfront. We took subway back the hotel and there is free trolley every 15 mins to old downtown and waterfront. Mr.Rabbit and I took one outside of the hotel. We got off it when we saw a lot of shops and restaurants. The Old downtown is beautiful. So clean and so neat! It's so different from NY. Many people were walking to the waterfront with their family and dogs. It was a nice, relaxing feeling. I think it must be a good place to live but must be expensive.
We walked a lot today again, and we will walk more tomorrow. And we will make sure to wake up before 10 am. Only 2 days left in D.C. Enjoy every moment!
