How do I know? The cool air? The yellowed leaves? The cold mornings and nights?
The truth is the falling pine cones!
I parked my car under a big tall pine tree the night before. In the morning, I drove my car and heard the strange sound every time when I make a turn. “coo, coo, coo.." like a little bird lives under my car. What is it? I checked my tiers and underneath my car, couldn't find nothing.
"Coo, coo, coo..." the sound continued when I drove home later that evening. Puzzled but couldn't know why. I parked my car under that big pine tree again, put one foot out on the ground and tried to stand out from my car. But something under my foot almost swept me away! What did I step on? A little rock? I wondered and looked down.
And, there is it. The pine cones!! Not one, not two, not three, but countless! I never saw that many pine cones just lay on the ground. They remind me of chestnuts. "The little squirrels will be so happy." I thought to myself:
suddenly, I thought of something. I looked into the gap between my car window and car hood, and there they are!! Not one, not two, but three little pine cones! They are the reason of the "Coo, coo, coo..." sound. "How lovely." I thought.
When I walked to my house and smelled the clearly air with pine tree aroma, the fall is truly here.
Thanks to the little pine cones for bring this wonderful news!
